Candex

The University of Notre Dame has partnered with Candex, a trusted and secure third-party payment system, to make payments to non-strategic vendors and/or one time payees. Payees that may be directed to Candex for payment are:

  • International payees requiring electronic payment
  • Small dollar payments
  • One-time or infrequest payments

What does this mean for the payee?

  • They will receive an email from support@candex.com asking them to complete a 1-minute Candex registration so that they can be paid by the University electronically through Candex. For an overview of the registration process, see our Payee Experience guide under "Resources" below.

  • The payee will receive payment through Candex within a few business days of registering.
  • The payee will not need to register in PaymentWorks or be set up in the University's vendor database.
  • Candex supports 14+ languages and payees will be able to select their native language during the registration. Additionally, they will be able to communicate with Candex Support in their native language. For a list of supported languages, see "Resources" below.

How will this impact the submitting department?

  • Departments will continue to submit all non-PO payment requests throught the Financial Toolkit (FTK).
  • Accounts Payable will review all payment requests and redirect those that fit the criteria listed above for payment by Candex.
  • Once the payee has registered with Candex, the status in the FTK will change to "Paid by Candex".

The University will continue using PaymentWorks to collect, validate and manage information for new and existing vendors that are repeat payees or strategic vendors. If you have any questions about Candex, please email Accounts Payable.
